The Expedition idea - spring 2004

Two ambulances, too outdated to be used in Sweden, were earlier parked in Strängnäs. 12,500 kilometers away in Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world, there is a school which many pupils can not even reach and where educational materials and medical supplies hardly exist!

On June 16th 2004, we will embark on a complex journey with these two ambulances and a jeep loaded with educational materials and medical supplies. We will drive partly off the road, through deserts with extreme heat, passing snowy mountains, and driving through earthquake-prone parts of the world. All together, we will travel through twelve countries before we reach the final destination outside the city of Pokhara on July 11th 2004. Our destination is located 4,500 meters above sea level on the mountain slopes of Himalaya.

This charity expedition of our own is not at all safe nor free of charge, and high demands on the participants and the equipment are to be expected. But we are committed to help this school by giving our time and engagement - simply by doing everything we are capable of in order to complete our task and successfully reach our destination in Nepal!
Sincerely yours,
The Expedition Team
